New all-wheel drive system for the 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid

New all-wheel drive system for the 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid

The 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid unveiled earlier this month will become the first compact hybrid in its class to offer an optional all-wheel drive system.  The new Corolla Hybrid, expected later this year, will also benefit from an improved and more powerful hybrid powertrain and significantly improved technology.

But we start with the big news. The addition of a new all-wheel drive system for the 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid means that owners will enjoy all the benefits and efficiency gains of the Corolla Hybrid engine with the traction and stability that only all-wheel drive can offer. You won’t find any other hybrid vehicles in this category or in a similar category with all-wheel drive.

Toyota also announced that the Corolla Hybrid will provide more power and efficiency. It will continue to be powered by a hybrid engine that combines a 1.8-litre Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder with two-engine generators and a continuously variable transmission. There is also a new lithium-ion battery now located under the rear seat, which means a lower center of gravity and greater charging capacity.

The 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid also receives all the improvements to the entire Corolla 2023 line-up.

These include:

- New 8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia standard on all Corolla models.

- New suite of Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 active safety technologies

- New front and rear style

- A more powerful 169-horsepower engine

- New colours
