2020 Toyota RAV4 vs 2020 Hyundai Tucson

2020 Toyota RAV4 vs 2020 Hyundai Tucson

The Toyota RAV4 moves ahead of the competition with the 2020 model line. It sports a special off-road edition while improving existing trims. Better styling and a focus on fun driving give Canadians many reasons to retain this as one of Toyota Canada’s most popular vehicles – it is also worth mentioning that the RAV4 is manufacturer right here, at Toyota’s Woodstock, Ontario facility. With all these qualities and more, the RAV4 continues to outflank competitors, including the 2020 Hyundai Tucson.

The 2020 RAV4 offers more choices and adventures

Compact SUV owners like to have many choices in their buying decisions. The long-running RAV4 has ten primary models, which beats the Hyundai Tucson in terms of options. This includes four hybrid choices and six gasoline-powered models. The RAV4 carries a styled platform with an attractive combination of sophisticated and rugged accents. The Tucson has a more vanilla appearance with more generic features.

New for 2020 is the RAV4’s all-new TRD Off Road trim. Vehicle owners who want excitement out of their vehicle now have more excuses to spend time on the trails. Standard Dynamic Torque Vectoring AWD with Rear Driveline Disconnect and a Muli-Terrain Select mode optimize the RAV4 on rough terrain and increase performance. The heated and ventilated seats will add comfort on any rugged surface, and the powerful engine makes it a better climber. You won’t find this level of off-road capability with the Hyundai Tucson.

The 2020 Toyota RAV4 is the undisputed horsepower winner

The RAV4 wins the power competition, hands down. Each gasoline-powered RAV4 includes a base 2.5L four-cylinder engine that generates 203 horsepower. The Tucson gets a base 161 horsepower 2.0 litre engine, which clearly has a much lower output. The RAV4’s hybrid models get 194 horsepower with the benefits of greater efficiency — a green option that isn’t offered with the Tucson. The RAV4’s transmission is an eight gear unit versus the Tucson’s six, providing more precision, better acceleration and efficient operation.

Finally, RAV4 owners can tow big without having to upgrade to a bigger SUV. On the Trail and TRD Off Road models, the total towing capacity is set at 1587 kg. This enables owners to tow ATVs, a boat or even a camper with ease. The Hyundai Tucson only offers a maximum towing capacity of 907 kg.
